Creating positive people

The law of averages states that when we work our territory correctly and speak to enough people we will meet some positive people who will be predisposed to donating. However there are people who daily go out and sign more supporters than the average person – this is because they do not rely on simply meeting positive people in the field, they create their own positive people.

Every person has the potential to be positive

The keys to creating a positive person are as follows:

• Massive smile, eye contact and enthusiasm
• Focus on making the donor feel good about themselves
• Tell them how important they are
• Tell them that they are doing a great thing and what a difference they are making
• Tell them that they deserve to feel great about themselves
• Pre-empt the fact that the amount is very small, but makes a huge difference

Remember that by creating our own positive people we have the potential to achieve massive success on any given day and leave every supporter with a positive experience.
