Explain everything all over again. Essentially you are “re-training” him/her on everything about The Academy. This includes the morning impact and situations pertaining to the field. Build respect.
Find hotspots and begin to develop a friendship. Sometimes these friendships may be all that person has during tough times. A good retrain talks more than you.
Remember why you are here, and where you are going.
“Pace” is the standard. The best way to set a standard is to lead by example. Setting the pace means that others look up to you as a leader. “Do as I do, and not as I say.”
Teach by repetition. Explaining everything will help the retrain understand the “method behind the madness.” Remember this is all new: atmosphere, pitch circles, never been in the field. Explaining “why” is just as important as explaining “what.”
You are part of a team. On the first application of the day, have the retrain fill out the tablet.
Be proactive make sure the RT is prepared for the day. You determine how successful the RT will be. You are building the future of your company
Instead of standing directly behind someone, watch the retrain from a distance. Have the retrain speak to customers alone. You can learn a lot about how the conversation is going by observing form a distance.
There is no “I” in team. Emphasise “we” so the retrain is exposed to the importance of working together.
Lead by example. Whatever the retrain sees on his/her days of training is what determines their success in the program. Walk, talk, act like the owner.
